Mitchell Aiello is originally from the Detroit, MI area. He graduated as a BFA Musical Theatre major from Oakland University in Auburn Hills, MI in 2016. Some notable roles that Mitch has played include Younger Brother (Ragtime), Cat in the Hat (Seussical), Harold Bride (Titanic the Musical), Ted (Disaster!), Pinocchio (Shrek the Musical), Smee (Peter and the Starcatcher), Corny Collins (Hairspray), Balladeer (Assassins), and Curly (Oklahoma!). He also completed his first National Tour in 2019 as Cap'n turbot in Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol Live! "The Great Pirate Adventure!". Some of Mitch's favorite games are Skip-BO and What Do You Meme? When not performing or teaching, you can often find him eating a bag of chips with lots of dips while setting the latest trend! Mitchell has just concluded his second production of Disaster! the Musical. He was the choreographer and played Professor Ted Scheider with Four Corners Musical Theatre in Farmington, NM. He is back in Abilene, KS preparing for an amazing 26th season as the Artistic /Education Director opposite Layne Roate at Great Plains Theatre. In addition, Mitchell just broke Great Plains and Plain great Players records with his direction of the Youth production of Annie Jr. co-directed by Melissa Ford. 43 kids ages 5-18 were involved in the production and played 6 stellar performances to massive audiences! He is so proud of their hard work and for this sucessful production!
Mitchell concluded his NATIONAL TOUR Debut last year! He played Cap'n Turbot in PAW Patrol Live! "The Great Pirate Adventure" with Nickelodeon and VStar Entertainment. He concluded his tour in Alaska performing in over 125 shows in 14 states over 6 months!
Mitchell has checked many dream roles off his bucket list recently! His two favorite have been Cat in the Hat (Seussical) and Younger Brother (Ragtime)! Mitchell is now the Artistic Director of Great Plains Theatre in Abilene, KS. Mitch alongside Layne Roate have taken over the roles of not only Artistic director, but also Education Director. Great Plains Theatre is an equity house where Mitch will be directing, hiring, auditioning, casting, and choreographing while choosing shows and taking artistic liberties to excel the professional theatrical experience in Kansas. The 26th Season (April 2020 - December 2020) has been selected and we are beaming with excitement.
